Wire/Cable Processing Technician -Swing Shift
Overivew:
In this role, you will learn and perform multiple crafts involved in wire / cable processing, label printing and crimp joining. Your work will contribute to a variety of continuously innovated custom cable assembly projects. If you like working with your hands, we’d love to speak with you!
- Read and interpret drawings, photo documentation, BOMs, travelers, cut lists and measurements
- Determine materials required and construct cable assemblies and wire harness orders in an efficient and professional manner with the use of hand tools and/or automated machinery
- Approach tasks with detail-oriented attention and maintain safety regulations by reporting breakage and the maintenance needs of applicators, machines and hand tools to Cell Lead/Supervisor
- Accurately count and record quantities of labor steps within Cable Tracker
- Continually reference approved sample or first article throughout project build
- Efficiently communicate with the Cell Lead and/or Supervisor in order to become proficient using specified and appropriate tooling and machinery. This also includes being willing and able to become satisfactorily trained in these designated work stations
- May administer routine maintenance on tooling
- Preform a wide array of tasks and varied skill levels associated with fabricating wire and/or cable assemblies. This is including, but is not limited to; printing labels, cutting, stripping, measuring, installing, verifying, and prepping wire and cable with the use of automated machines and hand tools
- Safeguard the handling of materials from damage throughout the production process
- Daily clean, maintain and organize tools and work area
- High school diploma or GED.
- Requires experience working with hand and power tools and use or read micrometer, caliper, and ruler/tape measure in inches and metric.
- Able to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Must have a high level of attention to detail
- Uses basic shop math.
- Basic communication skills and ability to work well with the lead and other team members.
- Basic understanding of quality systems, lean manufacturing, and safety procedures.

- Must be detailed orientated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Applicant must be able to speak, read and write English, and to clearly and effectively communicate well one-on-one and in-group discussion.
- Able to work evenings and weekends depending on business needs.
- Will work mostly on the production floor in a manufacturing environment exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odor, chemicals, solvents, fumes and temperature elements depending on weather.
- Ability to move about as needed throughout the day, and to sit up to 8 hours per day with intermittent occasional moving about your workspaces and the wire and tooling departments
- Ability to complete tasks in an environment where interruptions are the norm and background noise is present
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office, production equipment, and tooling
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs. alone, and lift and move equipment over 50 lbs. with manual or industrial assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision and depth perception.
This position is for a non-exempt Hourly employee who is expected to clock in and out using a company time clock and should expect to work full time at a minimum of 40 hours per week on average.
This shift’s schedule is as follows: 3:00pm to 11:30pm Monday through Friday.
Pay Periods are bi-weekly
